If you accidentally drop a piece of metal or sparks hit your feet, you will be in a world of hurt unless you aren’t prepared with the proper foot protection.
Leather Welding Spats are leather covers that go over your work shoes to help protect you from sparks that may fall on your feet. You will notice that some spats wrap entirely around your boot, while others go up your leg with coverings over the top of your shoe.
No matter which you choose, you need to make sure they will fit over the shoes you are wearing to ensure full protection. Here are the options:

These spats are made from durable chrome leather and are fitted with either a leather strap and buckle closure or a hook and loop closure option. The design includes side supports to hold itself upright. The heavy-duty material is extremely durable and offers protection from welding spatter and dross.

These spats are designed to be extremely durable, flame resistant, and strong wearing. Made from durable chrome leather, they can protect you from abrasion, fluids, and general wear and tear. They are available with either a leather strap and buckle closure or a hook and lock closure option.
The Blue Max range of welding apparel has been independently third-party CE Certified to ISO 11611 Protective clothing for use in welding and allied processes.
Golden Chief
The GOLDEN CHIEF Premium Leather Welder's Spats are made from premium gold pig split leather and are lightweight and comfortable for the wearer. They feature a double leather moulded toe area, as well as both a hook and loop closure and webbing under-boot strap with hook and loop closure. They are extremely durable, flame resistant, and offer excellent protection.
Big Red
The BIG RED® Welder's Spats have a leather strap and buckle fastening under the boot. Made from Big Red selected split leather, the material is extremely durable and flame resistant. With a hook and loop rear closer that is sewn with heat-resistant thread, these spats are strong wearing and extremely protective from abrasion, fluids, and general wear and tear.

Chrome Leather
For the protection of the lower legs and feet, the heavy-duty chrome split leather is extremely durable, flame resistant, and offers excellent protection from welding spatters and dross.
We offer these in three varieties:
1. The Blue Max Chrome Leather Quick Release Leggings are made from chrome leather, these leggings include a quick-release hook and loop closure and strap and buckle closure under boots, as well as Riveted, reinforced stress points. These are 406mm in length.
2. The Blue Max Chrome Leather Press-Stud Closure Leggings feature heavy-duty plastic inserts, a press-stud closure, and a strap and buckle closure under the boot. These are 406mm in length.
3. The Blue Max Chrome Leather Heavy Duty Leggings feature a quick-released Hook and Loop closure, 3 cane supports, and a 50mm elastic top. For extra protection, they also have a fibreboard toe guard and a strap and buckle closure under the boot.

Big Red
The BIG RED® Heavy Duty Welding Leggings have many features including a Hook and Loop rear closure, a quick-release Hook and Loop closure, and 3 thick plastic strip supports. With an elastic top and sewn with heat-resistant thread, the leggings are extremely durable, flame resistant, and protective. They also feature a fibreboard toe guard to reinforce protection for the wearer.
