For more than 30 years, Golden Chief® has been part of the Elliotts range, trusted by welders who need practical, hard-wearing leather protection. Today, the range has been relaunched with upgraded materials, refreshed styling and certification to EN ISO 11611:2015.

What Has Changed?
The relaunched Golden Chief® range has been updated with:
- Soft premium nubuck leather, which has replaced the previous pig split leather
- Improved comfort and flexibility for a better wearing experience
- Proban FR cotton lining in key jacket and bolero collar/shoulder areas
- Updated closure and garment design details to support EN ISO 11611:2015 certification
- New black shoulder panels on the jacket and bolero for a modern look and practical wear benefits
Why Nubuck Leather?
The move to premium nubuck leather is one of the biggest changes in the range. Nubuck has a softer, smoother feel than the previous pig split leather, giving the garment a more comfortable and premium feel from the moment it is picked up. For welders, that means apparel that feels better to wear across the working day while still delivering the leather protection the Elliotts Golden Chief® range has always been known for.
A Smarter Design For The Job
The Golden Chief® jacket and bolero now feature black shoulder panels. These give the range a stronger, more modern appearance, while also helping conceal dirt, scuffs and marks from carrying tools, leads and equipment over the shoulder.
The closures and garment details have also been revised as part of the range update, supporting compliance with EN ISO 11611:2015 requirements.
